Rocha-Singh, MD, of the Prairie Heart Institute at St. John’s Hospital, Vascular Medicine Program, Springfield, Illinois, and colleagues say that the procedure reverses progressive renal dysfunction, improves blood pressure control and reduces the number of anti-hypertensive medication requirements in patients with progressive renal dysfunction due to ischemic nephropathy.
