— Chronic renal anaemia patients who switched from two or three times weekly subcutaneous epoetin beta to once weekly or once fortnightly subcutaneous epoetin beta displayed effectively maintained haemoglobin levels.
Dr. Boleslaw Rutowski, of the European Collaborative Group, presented the findings here July 16th at the XXXIX Congress of the European Renal Association, European Dialysis and Transplant Association (ERA-EDTA).
These results provide opportunities to improve compliance and offer individualized and tailored therapy to chromic anemia patients, Dr. Rutowski said. In particular, there is a group of peritoneal dialysis patients who respond to once-fortnightly epoetin beta therapy, and another group who respond to once-weekly epoetin beta therapy.
