Sirolimus administered as primary therapy in combination with azathioprine or mycophenolate mofetil, appears to have a favorable safety profile compared to cyclosporin with regards to renal function.
This finding emerges from the pooled two-year data analysis of two open-label, randomized multi-centre studies by researchers with the Sirolimus European Renal Transplant Study Group.
