Findings from a recent study indicate that urinary nitrite excretion is increased in patients with primary nocturnal enuresis and that indomethacin’s ability to reduce bedwetting episodes in such patients is associated with a reduction in nitrite excretion.
Dr. N. S. Al-Waili, from Dubai Specialized Medical Center in the United Arab Emirates, compared the urinary nitrite excretion of 10 children with primary nocturnal enuresis and 10 healthy control subjects. In addition, in the enuretic group, several urinary parameters were measured before and after 15 days of treatment with indomethacin 50 mg.
