i would like to know the current recommendations for vaccinating children and teenagers who are participating in football league. are the attitude is the same as for professional sportsmen?
All children and adolescents in Israel should receive the vaccine against Hepatitis A & B regardless to their level of activity. This is the recommendation of the pediatrics society as well as family practitioners society. Athletes, especially professional ones, are at increased risk due
to various reasons (see our article in the last edition of "Harefua"). We also recommend a yearly vaccination against the flue.
