Breast cancer and prostate cancer head the list of the most common cancers, regardless of race, among American women and men respectively, government official announced on Monday.
“Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the US and the American Cancer Society estimates that in 2002, approximately 1.3 million Americans will receive a new diagnosis of cancer and over half-a-million Americans will die of the disease,” Dr. Hannah Weir, an oncologist at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, said.
