Franco-German drugmaker Aventis SA said on Tuesday that US drug authorities had approved its anti-cancer drug Taxotere for first-line treatment of patients with non-small cell lung cancer.
Aventis said in a statement that the US Food and Drug Administration approval was based on clinical trials that showed that Taxotere combined with a platinum agent showed improved benefits to non-small cell lung cancer patients, compared with other drugs.
