An official program reported to be the “world’s largest” of its kind will be fully launched in March to supply for free 34 essential drugs to 15 million Argentinians living below the line of poverty, Argentine president Eduardo Duhalde told a news conference last week.
“Drugs were selected to cover 80% of diseases until the end of 2004”, health minister Gins Gonzlez Garca announced. The so-called “Plan Remediar” expects medication to be delivered by means of 6,200 primary care centers (PMCs) throughout the country.
