Highly Selective Serotonin-1D Receptor Agonist Fails to Relieve Migraine Pain

Even though PNU-142633 is the most selective serotonin-1D (5-HT-1D) receptor agonist reported to date, it does not relieve migraine headache0–in contrast to triptan drugs, which are nonselective 5-HT-1B/1D receptor agonists.

Scientists at Pharmacia Corporation in Kalamazoo and at Pfizer Global Research and Development in Ann Arbor, Michigan developed PNU-142533, an isochroman aryl piperazine analogue, while investigating agents with antipsychotic potential.
