Swiss-owned Slovenian drugmaker Lek took aim at GlaxoSmithKline on Monday, saying it had started selling the generic form of the British company’s antibiotic Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium tablets) in the United States.
Lek, owned by Novartis AG, became the third company to sell the generic drug in the lucrative US market, where it markets it under the name Amoksiklav. Sales began on Thursday.
