NEW YORK (Reuters Health) Jul 03 –
Varicella vaccination at less than 14 months of age is associated with reduced vaccine efficacy, according to a report in the July issue of The Journal of Infectious Diseases.
In order to determine the effectiveness of varicella vaccination, Dr. Karin Galil of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in Atlanta, Georgia, and colleagues, investigated a varicella outbreak in a highly vaccinated population of children attending a day-care center in Pennsylvania from November 1999 to April 2000.
