NEW YORK (Reuters Health) Jun 20 –
Infants who use babywalkers have delayed development of locomotor milestones and an increased risk of injury.
Therefore, the use of these devices should be discouraged, Irish researchers report in the June 22nd issue of the British Medical Journal. In a cross-sectional study, Dr. Mary Garrett from University College Dublin School of Physiotherapy and colleagues surveyed the parents of 190 infants. The infants were around the age at which normal developmental milestones are reached.
