NEW YORK (Reuters Health) Jul 29 –
Intraocular injection of certain bone marrow-derived stem cells into a murine model of retinal degeneration appears to prevent the vascular destruction that occurs with age and diabetic retinopathy, according to a report published in July 29th online issue of Nature Medicine.
The findings also indicate that stem cell therapy could be useful for ocular diseases involving excessive blood vessel proliferation
