The biopharmaceutical firm Aphton Corp. said Wednesday that interim analysis of a phase II trial of the company’s anti-gastrin G17DT immunogen plus chemotherapy showed that 37 of 72 evaluable stomach cancer patients (51.4%) experienced a tumor response.
One of the patients in the study experienced a complete and 36 demonstrated partial responses. Investigators also reported an additional 20 of the chemotherapy-na ve patients had achieved stable disease. The chemotherapy regimen in the phase II trial consists of cisplatin and 5FU.
