Orlistat (Xenical) therapy effectively reduces weight in obese patients with insulin-treated type 2 diabetes, according to a report in the June issue of Diabetes Care.
Orlistat was previously shown to reduce weight in obese type 2 diabetic patients treated with oral hypoglycemic agents, the authors explain, but its efficacy in insulin-treated patients had not been demonstrated.
