Sleep Duration Linked to Heart Disease Risk in Women


Women who sleep for more or less than 8 hours each day are at increased risk for coronary events, according to a report published in the January 27th issue of the Archives of Internal Medicine.

Previous reports have shown that short-term sleep deprivation is tied to impaired glucose tolerance and increased blood pressure. However, the effects of long-term sleep deprivation have been unclear.
