Male Infants Linked With Higher Rate of Delivery Complications

New research suggests that women who give birth to male infants are at higher risk for delivery complications than women who give birth to female infants, according to a report published in January 18 issue of the British Medical Journal.

According to an analysis of more than 8000 full-term deliveries, male infants are just as likely to be born healthy as females, but expectant mothers of female infants tended to have fewer complications during childbirth than those delivering male infants.
