Some women with suspected breast cancer are waiting six times longer than they should for diagnosis and treatment, according to a new report.
The UK government announced a two-week directive for breast cancer referral in 1999. Under the initiative, women with suspected breast cancer are able to see a specialist within two weeks of an urgent referral from their GP.
