CHICAGO (Reuters Health) Apr 10 – The risk of poor outcome following head injury appears to begin to rise in the prime of life, and physicians may have to revise their approaches to the management of younger patients with head injuries.
Those are conclusions from a study, presented here Tuesday at the annual meeting of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, by Dr. Deborah L. Benzil, of New York Medical College, Valhalla. Dr. Benzil and colleagues reported that the risk of dying following head injury increases as early as age 30 years.
