People who become reinfected with Helicobacter pylori after eradication therapy probably do not contract the bacteria from their sexual partners, new study findings suggest.
The transmission of H. pylori remains unclear. One possibility is that the bacterium is transmitted through ingestion of water and food contaminated with fecal matter.
Another possibility is that it spreads through intimate person-to-person contact.
