Supplemental nocturnal nasogastric refeeding, in addition to standard oral refeeding, improves short-term outcomes in patients with anorexia nervosa, according to a report in the August issue of the American Journal of Psychiatry.
Dr. Adelaide S. Robb and colleagues from Children’s National Medical Center, Washington, DC, compared standard oral refeeding with or without supplemental nocturnal nasogastric refeeding in 100 adolescent girls hospitalized for anorexia nervosa.
