NEW YORK (Reuters Health) Aug 12 – A three-phase dual-enhanced multi-detector row computed tomography (CT) strategy could replace partially invasive diagnostic procedures for assessing hepatic function in potential living liver donors, German researchers report.
Dr. Tobias Schroeder and colleagues from University Hospital Essen note in the August issue of Radiology that once candidate living donors agree to donate part of a liver, they then undergo CT to assess the liver, ERCP to evaluate biliary anatomy and angiography to image the hepatic vasculature.
