DENVER (Reuters Health) Apr 19 – Men who smoke cigarettes are at increased risk of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), researchers told an audience here Wednesday at the 54th annual meeting of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN).
Dr. Carlos S. Kase, of Boston University, and colleagues looked at the relationship between smoking and ICH in men enrolled in the Physicians' Health Study. The study included 22,022 men who were 40 to 84 years of age in 1982 when they were free of self-reported MI, stroke, transient ischemic attack, or cancer.
