Disseminated malignant melanoma is more sensitive to chemotherapy in women–particularly elderly women–than in men, research presented at the European Society for Medical Oncology congress showed.
Some studies have suggested that women with the condition have improved survival compared to men, noted Dr. Juri Bulat from the Cancer Research Center in Moscow.
