The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is moving in the right direction to determine the overall safety and efficacy of the current anthrax vaccine, a government advisory panel concluded in a report issued Tuesday.
“The panel thought that CDC was clearly on the right track,” said Dr. Theodore Eickhoff, an infectious disease specialist at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and member of the Institute of Medicine (IOM) panel that evaluated the CDC’s research plan.
