Migraineurs with the skin mottling syndrome known as livedo reticularis are at a high risk of stroke, investigators at the Medical College of Ohio, Toledo, report. Dr.
Gretchen E. Tietjen and colleagues reviewed the charts of 133 patients with headache who presented at their clinic during a 6-month period. Of these, 82% were women and the mean age was 42. Livedo reticularis was found in 29 patients (22%), affecting roughly equal numbers of men and women.
