Boston Scientific Corp. said on Thursday that US regulators have approved its new Express2 coronary stent system. Natick, Massachusetts-based Boston Scientific said the new product will be available in the United States immediately.
Analysts said the stock sagged with other medical device manufacturers in a broad market decline. They said the approval had been widely expected and was already factored into Boston Scientific’s stock.
Express2 and an earlier version, Express, are already available in Europe, but the company will sell only Express2 in the United States. Boston Scientific has said it will use the Express system as the basis for its drug-coated stent program.
