LONDON (Reuters Health) Apr 18 – Results of a population-based study indicate that patients with type 2 diabetes have a lower risk of cardiovascular events compared with patients with known coronary heart disease (CHD), UK researchers report in the British Medical Journal for April 20.
Dr. Josie M. M. Evans and colleagues, from Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, note that it has been suggested that "patients with diabetes should be treated as if they had existing coronary heart disease."
