NEW YORK (Reuters Health) Apr 01 – Intensive cholesterol reduction reduces blood pressure and large artery stiffness in patients with isolated systolic hypertension (ISH), Australian researchers report in the March 20th issue of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Bronwyn A. Kingwell and colleagues, at the Baker Medical Research Institute, Melbourne, note that a number of studies in hypercholesterolemic patients have shown that cholesterol-lowering therapy leads to improvement in peripheral artery properties.
