Follow-up of patients who received freeze-dried, irradiated donor fascia in two types of urogynecologic repairs to correct incontinence shows unacceptable failure rates, according to results reported here this week at the 23rd annual meeting of the American Urogynecologic Society.
The use of the freeze-dried, irradiated donor tissue has been “a disaster,” lead investigator Dr. Mary Fitzgerald said.
