Using duplex Doppler ultrasound to assess clitoral hemodynamic responses to topical PGE-1 may be an easy way to diagnose and evaluate objectively women with sexual disorders, Argentine and American researchers suggest in the January issue of the Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy.
The report is timely given the recent assertion that female sexual dysfunction is a factitious entity promoted by the pharmaceutical industry (see Reuters Health report on January 3, 2003: “Drug firms deny ‘creating’ female sexual disorder”).
