Osteoarthritis in Finger Joints Linked to Increased Mortality Risk

Men with osteoarthritis in their finger joints are 42% more likely to die of cardiovascular disease than men without this form of arthritis, preliminary study findings suggest.

The researchers also discovered that women with arthritis in the distal interphalangeal joints were 23% more likely to die of any cause than women without the condition.
