The erectile dysfunction drug sildenafil (Viagra; Pfizer) appears to improve lower urinary tract symptoms, the results of a small study published in the December issue of BJU International suggest.
UK urologists led by Dr. K. Sairam of Lister Hospital in Stevenage had 112 men with erectile dysfunction (ED) complete the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) and the International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) questionnaires at baseline and 1 and 3 months after taking sildenafil as needed before sexual intercourse.
