An Ohio organization representing labor, health, religious and consumer groups on Thursday submitted petitions seeking to force the state’s General Assembly to consider legislation that would reduce the cost of prescription drugs for many residents.
The grassroots group, known as the Ohio Coalition for Affordable Prescription Drugs, delivered an unofficial 143,031 signatures to the Secretary of State’s office for certification. In Ohio, citizens may initiate action to compel consideration of a bill.
