Racial Gap in Prenatal Care Narrows, but Overall Goal Unlikely to Be Achieved


The gap in use of prenatal care between black and white US women has narrowed substantially over the last 20 years, new study findings indicate.

But it is unlikely that women of any race will meet the public health goal for uptake of prenatal care set by the federal government, Dr. Greg R. Alexander, from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and colleagues note.
