Men, but not women, who consume high amounts of dairy products appear to have an increased risk of developing Parkinson’s disease. But researchers caution that more studies are needed to confirm this finding.
“Like other chronic diseases, Parkinson’s disease is multi-factorial,” lead author Dr. Honglei Chen, from Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, told Reuters Health. “Many hypotheses have been proposed, and nearly all of them need further evidence for their relevance in human Parkinson’s disease,” he added.
