A high consumption of vegetables and soya-based products may be just as effective as statins in reducing cholesterol in certain people, according to the results of a study published in the journal, Metabolism.
Researchers devised a seven-day food plan based on a vegetarian combination diet that included foods such as broccoli, red peppers; soy milk, soy sausages; oat bran cereal and bread; and fruit and nuts.
