PSA doubling time (PSA DT) appears to be a good predictor of prostate cancer-specific death among men who have completed external-beam radiation therapy, researchers report.
Dr. Anthony V. D’Amico from Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, and colleagues studied the risk of prostate cancer-specific death in 381 men who had undergone external-beam radiation for clinically localized prostate cancer. At diagnosis the median age of the patients was 73 years.
