Researchers from major cancer hospitals say that the ability of software to combine images obtained through positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT) opens the door to a new and much more accurate era in diagnostic testing for cancer.
In a series of studies presented here during the 88th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America, researchers explained their experiences in using the new fusion technology in head and neck cancer, ovarian cancer, and lung cancer patients.
