Girls may be less likely than boys to develop attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), but those who do are more likely to be hospitalized with other mental disorders during adulthood than are boys with ADHD, study findings show.
“Although ADHD is more common in boys, girls with ADHD may have a poorer adult psychiatric outcome,” lead author Dr. Soren Dalsgaard, from Aarhus University Hospital in Denmark, told Reuters Health.
