High-impact training has been shown to produce beneficial bone changes in children. Now, findings from a new study indicate that these benefits are largely retained after the training has stopped.
In a previous study, Dr. Christine M. Snow and Dr. Robyn K. Fuchs, from Oregon State University in Corvallis, found that children who engaged in high-impact training experienced significant gains in hip and spine bone mass. A large part of the training program involved high-impact jumping.
