Health Minister Lord Hunt yesterday spoke at a meeting between the MCA and representatives of the herbal sector and said that the regulation of traditional herbal medicines would improve public confidence in the products.
The Minister referred to public health issues that have recently arisen through lack of a systematic approach to the safety and quality of herbal medicines. In July this year, representatives of the herbal sector were asked to send specific evidence in to the MCA to illustrate their concerns over the proposed Directive
