Women considering taking hormone replacement therapy after menopause must review their individual risk factors with their doctor before making a decision, according to a new set of recommendations issued by a panel convened by the North American Menopause Society.
The new recommendations, which were released Thursday at the annual meeting of the North American Menopause Society (NAMS) in Chicago, were designed to help women and their physicians decide whether the benefits of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) outweigh the risks.
