Among the variety of therapies used to treat non-genital warts, only those containing salicylic acid have been shown to be effective in well-conducted studies, UK researchers report. Based on a review of previous research into the effectiveness of wart treatments, Dr. Sam Gibbs, from Ipswich Hospital in the UK, and colleagues found only limited evidence in favor of commonly used techniques such as cryotherapy.
