The use of beta-blockers results in early mortality reduction after successful percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), according to researchers at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio.
Dr. Stephen G. Ellis and colleagues, reporting in the August 21st issue of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, note that although beta-blockers reduce mortality after myocardial infarction, limited data are available on their effect following successful PCI.
