In a male fetus with X-linked severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID), the in utero transplantation of cryopreserved fetal liver cells led to complete T and NK cell reconstitution, researchers report.
In the August issue of the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Magnus Westgren from Huddinge University Hospital, Sweden, and colleagues report the case of a male infant diagnosed with X-linked immunodeficiency by DNA analysis of a chorionic villus sample.
