A drawing test indicating neurological development can predict the ability of the vasopressin analogue desmopressin acetate (DDAVP) to treat nocturnal enuresis, UK researchers report in the September issue of the Archives of Disease in Childhood.
Dr. Philip C. Holland from Leeds General Infirmary, and colleagues studied the ability of the Rey-Osterrieth test to predict which children with nocturnal enuresis would respond to DDAVP treatment. The researchers studied 34 children, 7 to 13 years of age, with at least four episodes of nocturnal enuresis per week. All of the children attended a nocturnal enuresis clinic.
