Most Successful Pregnancies Symptomatic Within 8 Weeks

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) Aug 20 –

Nearly 90% of women who give birth to a live infant experience pregnancy-related symptoms within 8 weeks of their last menstrual period, according to a recent report by US researchers.

Very few studies have investigated the onset of symptoms in early pregnancy, Dr. Amy E. Sayle and colleagues, from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences in Durham, North Carolina, note. The few that have addressed this typically have relied upon the memories of women who were further along in pregnancy, the researchers write.
