PARIS (Reuters Health) Jul 02 – Tacrolimus ointment improves eyelid dermatitis without the ocular side effects seen with corticosteroids, US investigators said at the 20th World Congress of Dermatology.
Dr. Amy Krupnick, of Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, and researchers from Fujisawa Healthcare in Deerfield, Illinois, which markets the immunosuppressant drug, reported the results of a phase II trial of the drug in patients 21 to 68 years of age with moderate to severe allergic or irritant contact dermatitis or atopic dermatitis of the eyelids.
