NEW YORK (Reuters Health) Apr 29 – Results of a randomized trial show that transdermal administration of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) can improve sexual function in middle-aged and older men, and may be a good alternative to androgen replacement therapy.
Dr. Juha S. Tapanainen, from the University of Oulu, Finland, and colleagues randomly assigned 120 men, 50 to 70 years of age, to transdermal DHT or placebo. The DHT dosage ranged from 125 mg/day to 250 mg/day.
